Assistant Manager – Outdoor Summer Pool
Position Overview:
The Assistant Manager supports the daily operations of an outdoor summer pool facility and works closely with the Pool Manager to ensure a safe, clean, organized, and enjoyable environment for members, guests, and staff. This position requires a dependable leader who can assist with staff supervision, safety enforcement, and daily facility operations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist the Pool Manager with daily pool operations and opening/closing procedures
- Help supervise lifeguards and front desk staff to ensure proper performance and professionalism
- Promote and enforce all pool rules, safety policies, and emergency procedures
- Support lifeguard rotations, breaks, and coverage to maintain proper surveillance
- Assist with staff communication, scheduling, and problem-solving
- Handle member questions, concerns, and situations in a professional manner
- Ensure pool areas, bathrooms, and surrounding facilities remain clean and safe
- Assist with chemical logs, inspections, and required documentation
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and assist with first aid/CPR procedures when needed
- Help maintain a positive team environment among seasonal staff
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Must be reliable, responsible, and able to work independently
- Must have reliable transportation and the ability to arrive on time for scheduled shifts
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and peak summer hours
- Previous pool, lifeguard, recreation, or facility experience preferred
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions during challenging situations
- Lifeguard certification, CPR/AED, and First Aid certification preferred (or ability to obtain)

Pay range: $16-$18 per hour. Hourly rate will align with qualifications and/or experience.
